COMPACT TOOL CASE
The Swiss army knife for mechanics
Designing a product meant to replace one that is already well-known and appreciated on the market inevitably brings a bit of performance anxiety.
And if the company commissioning it is BETA UTENSILI – an Italian brand founded in 1923 and renowned worldwide – then you can be sure you’ll spend a few sleepless nights.
The BETA MINI is a compact tool case, measuring just 15 x 9.7 x 5.3 cm.
Despite its small size, it contains as many as 39 tools, perfectly organized thanks to a retention system that keeps them neatly in place at all times.
It’s a near-pocket-sized emergency kit – a real Swiss army knife for mechanics.
The “mission impossible” was to redesign the case, giving it a new look that would establish a visual connection with the rest of the BETA product line – a recognizable family feeling – while maintaining, and where possible improving, all the structural and functional qualities that had made it a commercial success.
All of this, of course, had to be done without increasing the case’s dimensions by even a single millimeter.
The new BETA MINI has achieved all the required goals, replacing and improving one of the most popular products in the BETA lineup.
