Designing a new product by using acquired components on the market is not as rare in the industrial design world where cost reduction is a determinant factor.
It often happens for internal components, rarely for the external.
This was the case for the electric hedge trimmer that uses a safety lever, front protection and on-off motor lever of another machines of its type.
It’s important that the new design integrates harmoniously with the other parts for a credible and original end result.
