PARKING METER
The Time Machine
This parking meter was designed for SOLARI, one of the most iconic Italian companies in the field of industrial design and urban technology innovation.
Its design is the result of careful research and a contemporary reinterpretation of SOLARI’s historical projects.
The company is world-renowned for its industrial clocks, the famous flip clocks, and cutting-edge electronic devices.
This is not just a modern and functional parking meter: it's a tribute to SOLARI’s visual heritage.
I aimed to recover the aesthetic lines, functional details, and the engineering spirit that have defined this brand, integrating them into a new form that responds to the needs of today’s smart cities.
This project has been deeply engaging and personally fulfilling.
SOLARI was founded in 1725 in Pesariis, a small mountain village in Carnia, in the Alto Friuli region of northern Italy, just a few kilometers from where I was born.
As a native of Carnia, it was a great honor for me to contribute, even in a small way, to the story of such an important and remarkable company.
